About Me

Hello and welcome to The Happiness Kitbag  

My name is Kay Cook and I’ve been supporting people to make positive changes to their lives since 1992 as a coach, trainer and group facilitator.  I live in Cumbria, home of the English Lake District – one of the most inspiring and beautiful regions of the UK.  

I have a particular interest in health and wellbeing, and in working with people to make changes to improve their mental, physical and emotional health.   I have nine years’ experience as a counsellor for an agency helping clients with drug and alcohol problems, and have successfully supported many people towards living a healthier life free of addictions.  I am an accredited parenting trainer and am currently involved in a national programme aimed at addressing health, nutrition and lifestyle issues in families with young children through solution-focused approaches.  I also have recent experience of working directly with schools to facilitate health and drug education sessions with pupils.

I am qualified through the Institute of Leadership and Management to Level 7 in Executive Coaching and Mentoring.  I have a First Class Honours degree in English Literature and a certificate in Adult Education, a Master Practitioner Certificate in NLP and an NLP Coach Practitioner Certificate.  I am also an accredited Laughter Yoga leader. My professional background in adult and community education, the charitable sector and in the Children’s Services department of local government has given me a wide experience in delivering effective training and support to a diverse range of people.

In July 2010 I undertook further training to become an accredited Happiness Coach with Dr Robert Holden of the Happiness Project and Success Intelligence, which enabled me to incorporate his innovative models and methods into my own coaching practice.
